A career coach is someone who knows all about careers, and can help you evaluate and enhance your own! We can help kids and adults alike learn all about the world of work, and what options are most suitable for each individual. We also help people to get, leave, or advance in jobs, and hopefully speed up the job search process.

Who needs a career coach?
Many people need a career coach, especially if they...
~ have no idea what to do next with their life ~
~ feel lost or unfulfilled by their job ~
~ wish they could quit their crummy job ~
~ wish they could just get promoted already ~
~ feel frustrated by their search for work ~
~ just can't seem to get an interview ~

As you can see, there are lots of reasons to reach out to a career coach. We also have many other names, like career advisors, or career counselors. One who holds the latter title is certified to do counseling too, which I am not. They typically cost more money to work with, but may have more insights about your overall mental health and well-being.
I can provide a referral to an excellent Career Counselor if you feel this is what you need.
Are career coaches the same as recruiters and headhunters?
Nope, definitely not. I was a recruiter before and learned that they're not exactly working for you - you are the product, not the client. Although they might "get you a job," it's not guaranteed to be one that's really a good fit for you.​

As a career coach, my mission is to help coach you into a position of independence, so that you can get the job you love, on your terms. A good career coach won't write your resume or your cover letters, and won't find you jobs. Instead, I will help you better understand the insides of the hiring process so that you can go "Aha!" and simplify your job search strategy. If all goes well, you should never have to hire one of us again! And of course, you are my client, not a company.
